I haven’t blogged in FOREVER…but the second I saw this, I knew I had to share it with the world!

A new movie version of “The Great Gatsby” is currently in production (in Australia, of all places), and it has an amazing cast and gorgeous costumes! Of course, I love just about anything retro, but this is really, really great.

On the left, we have Carey Mulligan as the devastatingly beautiful Daisy Buchanan with Leonardo DiCaprio as a very dapper Jay Gatsby. (Click on the picture to see it without her head cut off.)

On the right, we have Isla Fisher, looking exactly the way you’d want annoying, tacky mistress Myrtle Wilson to look.

The costumes are designed by Catherine Martin, director Baz Luhrmann’s wife. The two also worked together on Romeo + Juliet (with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio), and the aesthetic was breathtaking.

I’m so excited for this movie to come out!

Have I mentioned before that Karl Lagerfeld is a genius?

Every season, I look at Chanel thinking that I know what to expect - twists on Coco’s classic suit. And yet, Lagerfeld manages to make those twists real, interesting and unexpected.

Most of the looks in this collection are totally wearable - I may even try to the center one for work. The collection combines frills and ruffles with straight lines in a way that is fun, yet elegant.

It was really hard to narrow down my favorite looks in this collection - there were some cute poofy dresses that I can imagine my favorite starlets wearing on the red carpet, and some cool white swimsuits with see-through rain jackets. You’ll just have to make do with what I’m showing above :)

Congrats to the lovely couple!!!

My total adoration for Victoria Beckham has been well-documented, so it should come as no surprise that I have only the highest praise for her new line, Victoria by Victoria Beckham.

These dresses are shorter and less structured than Posh’s original line, and they have a kicky 1960s Mod look to them that’s both fun and functional. I love her use of bright and happy-looking pinks and reds.

A lot of sites have been raving about the cat-print dresses, which Beckham said were inspired by Emily the Strange. I think they’re cute, but not very exciting. I like the last dress, which Beckham called a “Faberege” print.

Oscar de la Renta had a huge collection and I loved it all!! There are so many things I loved about it. First, it had so many feathered things, which I adore. Then, it had high slits which we are seeing all over fashion week and which I love as well. It also had the asymmetrical skirts that are all the rage. And finally the collection was fun and colorful, the two most important things in a spring collection!

Hi! Stav had this post queued, and I just noticed it as I was about to write about Oscar de la Renta! I LOVED this collection, and I just wanted to add a couple of things that I thought were really cool:

This dress has a gorgeous Medieval-princess vibe to it, and I LOVE the model’s hair. Redheads look great in green, especially a vibrant emerald like this.

This kind of has a Chanel vibe to it…and we all know how much I love Chanel! There were a lot of interesting suits and blazers, with mixed patterns and bright colors.

In a word, stunning.

At first glance, I was sure this is really Marilyn!

Michelle Williams is gorgeous. She’s come so far since Dawson’s Creek!

Also, I want both of these outfits, so I can wear them to work.

Michelle Williams: My Week With Michelle Williams - Vogue by Annie Leibovitz, October 2011

I had my reservations, but for the most part, this turned out to be a lovely shoot.

I updated the cover post with a better version.

Marc Jacobs went with simpler designs this time, focusing on red\orange, navy and white for a patriotic look, with plenty of horizontal lines and peplums. Here are my favorite looks!

Blue and red Marc by Marc Jacobs swimsuit

Interestingly, Victoria Beckham went with a similarly pared-down look with an almost-identical color scheme for the first half of her eponymous collection:

(Not sure what is going on with this model’s legs. Weird, right? Are those leather legwarmers?)

The rest of the collection was more sporty and utilitarian:

And I just adore this maxidress:

I’m currently waiting impatiently for pictures of the Victoria by Victoria Beckham collection to come out. I’ve read great reviews!!

So, Stav and I have this thing where we just don’t like strapless dresses. They make everyone’s armpits and boobs look weird, and who wants to deal with having to pull them up all the time?
I think this picture of Bar Refaeli proves our point.
I mean, the woman is basically flawless. She’s super sexy, and has a great body. But this bikini does it no favors.
How weird do her boobs look? They’re like smushed in the most awkward way possible. And it clearly has no lining, because that is some serious nipple-itis.
Next time, try some straps, Bar.

If loving these three is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
Seriously, though, J-Woww’s dress is hot. I’m sure it’s not Balmain, because these girls don’t exactly wear couture, but it’s clearly supposed to look like Balmain. I approve.
Snooki looks adorably tacky, as usual.
And finally, Deena looks exactly what a 7-year-old girl imagines she’ll look like when she grows up and becomes a pop star. I approve of the outfit, but only for Jersey Shore cast members, or Jem of Jem and the Holograms.
Either way, Deena is my favorite! She’s a blast in a glass!

What do you think of Kim Kardashian’s wedding headband?
It had a cool, retro vibe to it, but it may be a bit much. On the other hand, if you can’t be extravagant at your own wedding…
I think I approve.

P.S. Sorry for the awkward picture. No photos have been released yet, so this is a screencap from a preview of the E! special on the wedding.

Helloooooo gorgeous!
Anyone who said Christina Hendricks couldn’t be styled is W-R-O-N-G WRONG. She’s had her fair share of red-carpet mishaps, but seriously, there had to be a way to get this absolutely beautiful bombshell into 21st century clothing that is actually flattering. And Lucky magazine succeeded.
I love everything about this cover. Love her hair, love her smile (and lipstick shade), love her dress with the uber-flattering neckline (sexy, but not too cleavage-y), love the floral wallpaper in the background.
And she looks great inside the magazine, too:

It’s an all around win.

This is a great example of how you can dress modestly but still look sexy and elegant. Please, someone make a knockoff of this dress so I can wear it to a friend’s wedding?
And yes, yes. This is my second Kate Middleton post of the day. But seriously, doesn’t she look amazing? This is at a BAFTA party in LA, where the Duchess outshone all of the other stars.
Like J-Lo, for example. THIS is what you wear to meet royalty? You couldn’t take the classiness up a notch for ONE NIGHT?

Here are some stars I liked:
Jennifer GarnerElizabeth Moss
Zooey Deschanel

It’s Paris Fashion Week, and that, of course, means CHANEL!! My favorite! Karl Lagerfeld worked his magic yet again, and the Fall 2011 Couture line is stunning.

Of course, it began with a re-working of Chanel’s classic suit, with lots of tweed. The major trend in these suits is peplums - most of the two-piece outfits coming down the catwalk had a ruffle around the waist. The two-toned suits emphasized the hips, while the monochrome ones played it down.

The maxi-suits are very cool, too, and show a great way to dress up the longer-skirt trend.

Next we have this black cocktail dress, which I think would be awesome without boots, which I find a bit overwhelming. Just imagine it with some black Loubitons, and all will be well.

The white dress is wintry yet light, and very beautiful. I can imagine a floor-length version on an Oscars red carpet.

Finally we have this art-deco gown. The beading is gorgeous, and the belted waist keeps the pattern from overwhelming the model’s body.

Stunning!

My name is Lahav, and I am a Kate Middleton-aholic. I feel compelled to blog every outfit the new duchess wears.

So here we are on the royal grand tour of Canada:

Day 1: Gorgeous.

Day 2: Stunning.

Notice the red maple leaves on her fascinator, in honor of Canada Day, and the flattering ruffles on her white dress.

Day 3: Fabulous.

I think, but I’m not sure, that this dress is by Victoria Beckham, who I also love.

I like that Kate put a little curl in her hair this time.
